I'm Michael, the maker behind Mallard Woodworking.

Woodworking has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up watching my dad and grandfather work with wood, both sharing a passion for the craft as a hobby. About ten years ago, I found my way back to woodworking, and what started as a personal interest has grown into something much bigger.

There's something special about taking a raw piece of lumber and transforming it into something both beautiful and useful. I enjoy every part of that process — from working through the design to figuring out the details that bring a piece together.

But what makes the work most rewarding is seeing a client's reaction when they see their vision brought to life. Knowing that something I've built will become part of someone's home, be used every day, and hopefully be passed down for generations is what makes this work meaningful to me.

At Mallard Woodworking, I believe furniture should be more than something that fills a space. It should be thoughtfully designed, carefully made, and built to last. Every piece is an opportunity to create something that brings people together and becomes part of their everyday lives.

My vision for Mallard is ambitious: to build West Michigan's leading custom furniture business, known for exceptional craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and pieces that stand the test of time.

I'm glad you're here, and I'd love the opportunity to build something for you.
